it's never sunny in london
so let's get this party started
Two days of classes left--religion and film--then three exams and it's done. Two weeks after that to keep job and flat hunting before graduation. My family's flying out for the ceremony. I'm also wrapping up Camp NaNoWriMo, submitting some work for possible publication, and playing around with a new book that I got at Waterstone's: Ready, Set, Novel!
It's a great little workbook, which I like because it means I get to write and doodle in the pages with whatever comes to mind. It's really helped me zero in on what I want to be writing. I'm also really looking forward to the new flat where I'll get to set up a little writing area: I'm thinking a nest of pillows and blankets in a corner with sticky notes and things pinned to the wall and a small speaker system for my music. And beside it, a yoga/meditation area with my yoga mat that I can use the speakers with to play my guided sessions. I don't need a lot of space or fancy gadgets, just a little room for my inspiration. And speaking of inspiration, I've started finding some value in 'pin-spiration' by collecting photos from around the web that help give me ideas on what to do with my living space no matter how limited. I like.
Anyway, today my friends and I are having a BBQ to celebrate the small amount of sun that's come to London. Ta!
FallingThis is the first breath of air
just when you think you've drowned.
This is Beethoven's Fifth
after a lifetime without sound.
This is crisp, clean water
after a desert-filled eternity.
This is rebirth without death,
heaven after graveless purgatory.
